Diversity in fastening technology – plastic anchors at a glance

Plastic anchors are indispensable helpers in fastening technology – whether in construction, interior fittings, drywall construction or installation work. Depending on the requirements, different materials and shapes are used to ensure secure, durable and simple fastening. In today’s article, we take a closer look at the anchor types shown and their specific advantages.

Plastic plugs made from polyamide
These plugs are known for their high strength, impact resistance and temperature resistance. Polyamide PA 6 is a particularly resilient material that hardly deforms even under changing temperatures.
Advantage:
✔️ High load-bearing capacity even under dynamic loads – ideal for concrete and solid stone.

Universal plugs with and without collar made of polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE)
Universal plugs are the all-rounders among fasteners. They expand in solid materials and knot in cavities, making them versatile. Models with a collar prevent them from slipping through the drill hole.
Advantage:
✔️ Universally applicable – perfect solution for unknown substrate material.

Cavity wall plugs made of glass fiber reinforced plastic
These plugs have been specially developed for use in cavity walls (e.g. plasterboard). The glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) offers exceptionally high stability and load-bearing capacity, especially with thin or soft materials.
Advantage:
✔️ High retention values even with low panel thickness – for professional installations.

Hard foam board plug
Specially developed for installation in external thermal insulation composite systems and hard foam boards. The coarse external thread ensures positive anchoring in the soft substrate – without any pre-drilling.
Advantage:
✔️ Simple, quick installation without thermal bridge – ideal for façade work.

🏗️ Application sectors
The dowels presented here are used in various sectors:

  • Building trade: for concrete, masonry and cavity constructions
  • Interior fittings & drywall construction: for installations in plasterboard or wooden stud walls
  • Electrical and sanitary installation: for securely fastening cable trays, pipes and brackets
  • Facade technology: especially in the area of thermal insulation

Summary:
Every anchor has its own strength – and with the right material and the right design, a reliable solution can be found for every installation situation. At Günther Pulverich GmbH, we focus on quality, variety and sophisticated technology for secure connections in all construction phases.
